What is Hollywood Smile?
There are several aesthetic criteria to consider when designing a Hollywood Smile. The primary aesthetic criterion is that when our lips are relaxed and our mouth is slightly open (not smiling), our front teeth should be visible by 1.5-2 mm. This gives our face a more youthful appearance. This is because, with age, teeth wear down, and our cheeks droop under the influence of gravity, making them less visible.
The second aesthetic criterion is that when we smile, our cheeks should be fully open, and there should be no dark areas at the corners of our lips. When creating a Hollywood smile, these criteria are taken into account, and the teeth are designed to be slightly more angled outward, thus avoiding the formation of dark triangles.
Another criterion is that our teeth follow the line of our lower lip when we smile. When we smile, our lower lip forms a curve, and for an aesthetic appearance, our teeth must follow this curve from the front to the back.
Another criterion is the accurate determination of the proportions between teeth. Our two front teeth should not be longer than our molars. The pupillary line should also be aligned with the sharpest tips of the molars. Of course, these proportions don't apply to everyone. Everyone has a unique facial structure, and the more closely the teeth are proportioned to the overall proportions, the more aesthetically pleasing the appearance. Therefore, while a Hollywood Smile meets certain criteria, it is custom-designed.
Before aesthetic zirconium teeth are fabricated, a thin layer of the teeth is removed as part of a treatment plan that considers all these criteria, as well as the patient's individual facial shape and jaw structure. Then, the teeth are prepared in a laboratory environment to best suit the patient's face. The patient has the opportunity to see these sample teeth in person during the fitting. Before your Hollywood Smile design is even completed, if you approve your teeth during the fitting, they will be polished and finalized. This will give you durable, aesthetic teeth that you can use without any problems for 20-25 years. Another feature of zirconium is its light permeability. This allows you to have new, more aesthetically pleasing teeth that are indistinguishable from your natural teeth.
