Gum Diseases (Pyorrhea)
Pyorrhea is the general name for gum disease. Healthy gums are pale pink and tightly surround the teeth. Healthy gums do not bleed or recede, and patients with healthy gums will never experience bad breath. If our gums are unhealthy, we may lose our teeth due to gum disease, even if we don't have any cavities.
If the gums are not treated, even healthy, decay-free teeth can be lost, and loose teeth with bleeding gums may fall out on their own without even needing to be extracted.
Gum disease, tartar removal (scaling) and cleaning the gums from bacterial plaque will save the mouth from bleeding gums, thus preventing bad breath and cleaning our teeth and gums.
